Idioma:
Obinna Uzoekwe
Program Specialist Team Lead
Obinna “Obi” is a Program Specialist Team Lead at notMYkid, where he is passionate about empowering young people to make healthy, positive life choices. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, Obi brings both knowledge and genuine compassion to every classroom, presentation, and interaction. His leadership helps inspire students while supporting his team in delivering engaging, impactful prevention education throughout the community.
Obi joined notMYkid because he wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families by creating positive change within his community. Every day, he is motivated by the opportunity to encourage resilience, build confidence, and help students recognize their potential before they face life’s biggest challenges.
One of Obi’s favorite memories at notMYkid came after a school presentation when students lined up to give him handshakes and high-fives. For him, those simple moments of connection are a reminder that kindness, encouragement, and authenticity can leave a lasting impact on a young person’s life.
If he could share one piece of advice with his teenage self, it would be this: you are capable of overcoming challenges that may seem impossible today. Obi hopes every student he meets walks away believing in their own strength, knowing they can persevere through obstacles and create a bright future for themselves.
